Our focus for this school year is Recover, Reengage, and Reimagine. To reengage students we are supporting social-emotional learning for 85 elementary students across 7 schools. We focus on developing students’ ability to: express care, challenge growth, provide support, share power, and expand possibilities.

At Thorndyke Elementary, Sebastian works with students on negative self-talk. She uses a “negative self-talk monster” (the bully in our brain that says mean things like “I can’t do this”, or “This is too hard”, or “Nobody likes me”, so students can practice naming their feelings. Working on these skills is more important than ever during these challenging times as it gives students a space to talk through their feelings.
