TYRELL is a Renton native and currently serves as Assistant Principal at Hazen High School, where she has a strong focus on removing barriers and ensuring equitable outcomes for students through family engagement and instructional leadership. Before coming to Hazen, Tyrell was a science teacher for 13 years in the Lake Washington and Tahoma School Districts, and was thrilled to return home to Renton Schools for her career as an administrator. Tyrell first became involved with Communities in Schools when researching resources for her students struggling with poverty and homelessness, and decided to volunteer to expand the amazing work that CISRT is doing in our schools.
Tyrell also enjoys family time with her husband, two children, and four pets. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping trips around Washington, and watching the Seahawks.
