MORNIDA graduated from the University of Washington in 2018 and has been working at non-profits since then, focusing on education. She is passionate about meeting student needs so that they can be successful and achieve their goals. As a first-generation student, she understands how difficult it can be navigating the education system which is why she’s happy to be working with Communities In Schools. Mornida’s position allows her to be a direct resource for students where she can be a mentor and provide guidance that she wishes she had when she was younger. She’s excited to be starting a M.Ed. program at Seattle University in Fall 2020 where she can learn how to better support students. She’s grateful to be a part of an organization that cares about the future of children and local communities. She is proud of her Cambodian roots and comes from a big family – 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Mornida being the oldest. She enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and food, and binge watching shows and movies in her free time.
