LORENZA was born and raised in Denver, CO to a Mexican Baker and a High School Spanish teacher. Originally was going to an arts school to play the cello, but after four years in the work force she followed her mother to Spain and lived there for six months in Pamplona. Lorenza met her husband while in Spain in 2000 and were married two years later.
After moving to St Louis, MO for her husband’s work they started a family by fostering and eventually adopting twin girls. Shortly after the adoption they had a third child. Lorenza started her work in the district as a Behavior Tech for preschoolers on the Autism spectrum and after 10 years in St. Louis they were relocated again to the Seattle area and have been here for almost nine years.
In Seattle Lorenza worked for the Renton School District as a Unique Needs Specialist again with preschoolers on the Autism spectrum before returning to school for her degree. Her twins graduated high school in 2019 and her youngest started her journey into homeschooling for the year before fast tracking her high school career in 2020.
Lorenza graduated in 2018 from WSU with my BA in Social Sciences with concentrations in Psychology, Sociology, and Human Development. She worked in the Wraparound program at Sound helping families and youth in crisis build strong support systems. She made the switch to Communities in Schools as a Family liaison to continue her passion for working and empowering families and children in need. She is also in the process of starting her Masters of Social Work program in 2020!
