Khalifah grew up in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Near Eastern Asian Studies. She made her second home in Yokohama, Japan where she worked as an early education English teacher. She taught preschool, elementary, and Special Education in Japan. Khalifah has over 15 years of experience in supporting families from all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Khalifah moved to Seattle Washington in 2016 and worked In the non-profit sector, as a Preschool teacher certified in High Scope Curriculum. She provided services and programs to help children acquire the academic and social-emotional skills needed for thriving. Khalifah is certified as a Peer Mental Health Navigator under Mental Health Matters (MHM) of Washington State. She worked in Mukilteo, Seattle, Redmond, Lake Washington, Believe, and in the Tukwila School District as a Certified Behavioral Technician. Khalifah’s hobbies are writing and Illustrating children’s books. She is also a published children’s book author and illustrator. Khalifah enjoys developing educational products and content for ESL, Preschool early education, and children with special needs.
